Key Tracking Factors & Rationale:
- Summer’s final days are upon us, which is typically when we see forecast movement slow a bit. That said, with the overwhelming success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey in recent weeks, expectations for a number of upcoming fall releases continue to remain fluid.
- The prime update this week is Disney and Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers Endgame: Encore, a re-release of that Marvel Cinematic Universe’s swan song to the Infinity Saga.
- Our initial forecasts may appear modest given the franchise and fan interest, and they admittedly are. This is out of an abundance of caution. At present, not a lot of information is available beyond the promise of altered and/or additional scene(s) — rumored to clock in around 7 minutes between those options, but adding 4 minutes of actual runtime — bridging the storyline to December’s Avengers: Doomsday. Considering historic demand for that film’s early pre-sales in recent weeks, die-hard Marvel fans are likely to show up for whatever tease Encore brings about.
